This Privacy Policy describes how 88 Studios ("we," "us," or "our"), trading as Classy Academy, collects, uses, and safeguards personal information when you visit our website or purchase our digital guides. 88 Studios is the data controller responsible for your personal information under this notice.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data: your name and email address (to create your account and deliver your guides), support correspondence you send us, and basic technical data such as browser type, device information, IP address, and pages visited. Payment and billing details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider, Paddle, and are not stored on our servers.

How we use your information, and legal basis

We use your information to: deliver your purchased guides and provide access to your account (performance of contract); provide customer support and respond to your requests (performance of contract and our legitimate interests in supporting our customers); send transactional emails such as receipts and access links (performance of contract); maintain the security and integrity of the site and prevent fraud (our legitimate interests); and comply with legal obligations including tax and accounting requirements (legal obligation). We may occasionally send related product updates on the basis of our legitimate interests or your consent, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell your personal information.

Payments and Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you purchase, Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information as an independent controller for the sale, in accordance with Paddle's own privacy notice.

Data sharing

We share personal data with categories of recipients only as needed: Paddle (Merchant of Record) for payment processing, subscription and order management, invoicing, and tax compliance; service providers and subprocessors that host our infrastructure, deliver email, and store files on our behalf; professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers; and government authorities where required by law.

Data retention

We keep account and purchase records for as long as your account is active and for up to seven (7) years after your last purchase to satisfy tax, accounting, and legal record-keeping obligations. Support correspondence is retained for up to three (3) years. Basic technical and analytics data is retained for up to twenty-four (24) months. After these periods, data is deleted or anonymised.

Email communications

After a purchase, you will receive a welcome email with access to your digital library, plus transactional emails relating to your account. You may unsubscribe from any non-essential marketing communications at any time.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and passwordless magic-link sign-in for your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data.

International transfers

Your data may be processed by service providers located outside your country of residence. Where required, we and our providers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms to protect your information.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information, and object to or withdraw consent for certain processing.
